Asked by yoyoyo - Thu Feb 19 09:20:01 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. In the Netherlands we've a sentence we use: "A donkey doesn't hit the same stone twice". This is, because the donkey has a memory, he doesn't make the same mistake twice. History is in fact the "memory" of the human race. Because something already happened once, we should have learned from it. For example, why do we think Afghanistan is dangerous? Because the Sovjets lost the war over there, because every day people die over there, because the Taliban is over there,... These are all historical facts and based on these facts, we form our opinion and it will protect us from making the same mistake twice. Answered by Chris N - Thu Feb 19 10:15:12 2009 Why can't we just be allowed to live our lives without being scared about being wrong with our religion? Q. Bear with me, this is a rather long rant. This is mainly an argument against Abrahamic religions. Other religions could apply here as well but I am mainly talking about Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Life is short and we as human beings with inherent rights and worth should be entitled to live our lives as we see fit, as long as we do not cause harm to others. We should not be asked or expected to "know" what the correct religion is nor follow its practices/superstitions. For example, the taking of bread and wine like the last supper or a mandatory pilgrimage to Mecca (if your conditions allow it) or… [cont.] Asked by bill d - Tue Jan 6 04:53:07 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments A. actually they want you to be scared of doing wrong to support the church. they say to tithe, actually what they should say is give me your money or you will go to hell. and it scares the weak minded people into giving. they in turn control them Answered by t1great - Tue Jan 6 04:59:14 2009 In need of makeup help...?
Q. I am a historical reenactor. Coming up in about six months is a really hardcore event that I know I'll have a lot of fun with. (Think medieval days.) I'm with a group that works as knights; however, due to my stature (I'm on the small side) I would not fare well with a broadsword. :-( They solution the committee has given me is to join the "Mongolian captive" group as an archer. As much as I love to shoot and love the group I'm with, I don't look as Mongolian as my Asian "captive" friends do. I'm white. To fit the costume *requirements*, I must find a way to appear more Asian. Makeup is my medium, and although I do some stage makeup tricks up my sleeve, I've never tried to look Asian for a part before. I have no idea where to start. Any… [cont.] Asked by Nariev d'Ivoire - Mon Jan 28 22:05:42 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments From Yahoo Answer Search: "historical mediums" |
